這本書是尋夫獵人三部曲的第一本，不過我是先看第二本The Vengeful Husband，三本書可以分開閱讀，不會影響劇情，我覺得先看第二本還不錯，因為這本書的女主角Maxie和第二本書的女主角Darcy本是好朋友，但因Darcy的未婚夫一廂情願地愛上Maxie而悔婚，造成Darcy被拋棄在教堂而一人到威尼斯去旅行，因而有了第二本書的故事。
所以故事一開始Darcy對Maxie講話不是很客氣，甚至有點酸，如果先看這本我應該會不大喜歡Darcy，還好我先看的是第二本。

男主角Angelos其實哈女主角Maxie很久了，因為Maxie是他表哥的情婦所以一直沒有出手，直到Maxie恢復自由才開始展開追求(威脅利誘??)，但是Maxie其實是個有傳統觀念的女孩子，無法接受沒有婚姻之外的滾床，所以不肯就範，Maxie因為父親欠債加上自己有閱讀障礙，所以才簽了不合理的契約(跟漫畫版不一樣)，接受做名義上的情婦。
這本書好看的地方在於男女主角之間緊張的性張力和無法預測的情節，女主角寫了滿滿兩頁男主角的缺點怕被男主角發現那段也挺好笑的，男主角雖然很ALPHA，但是為了女主角也做了滿多改變，從一開始約定兩人要隱瞞婚事，到最後想告訴全世界反而被女主角阻止，看了真是甜在心頭，五星推薦。
